An association born under the Abidjan sky
Founded in 2021 at the UFR SSMT of Félix Houphouët-Boigny University, AIA gathers some forty enthusiasts determined to make astronomy an Ivorian affair.
Our mission
Train the next generation
School tours, astronomy clubs, guidance towards scientific careers — with particular attention to young women.
Do science
Asteroid search campaigns with the IAU and NASA, and eventually a national observatory producing data useful to the international community.

Birth of AIA at the UFR SSMT of Félix Houphouët-Boigny University.

Six asteroids detected during IASC campaigns run with the IAU and NASA.

Launch of the AstroPause lectures and growth of school clubs.

A national astronomical observatory — first stone of an Ivorian space agency.

Leads IASC campaigns and the follow-up of our six asteroids with the Minor Planet Center.
